Salihara Gallery hosted Fendi Siregar’s selected photographic works from his 3 years following the trail of the central characters in The Centhini Story, delving into the stories, locations and rituals. The exhibition featured 40 unpublished images from around 11,000 photos. In the end, it has become Fendi’s lifetime obsession in following the trails, with never ending new discoveries. The exhibition was curated by Asikin Hasan of Salihara Gallery.

The Indonesian Heritage Trust (Badan Pelestarian Pusaka Indonesia) and The Coordinating Ministry of Social Welfare (Kemenkokesra) hosted a discussion to celebrate 200 years of Serat Centhini, the original text and inspiration for The Centhini Story. Serat Centhini dates back to 1814, it is an encyclopaedic work written by court scholars of the Surakarta royal palace in the form of poetry and songs.
