The Centhini Story’s first launch was held at the Singapore Art Museum. The launch was officiated by Mr. Michael Koh, CEO of the National Heritage Board, Mr. Andra Djati, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Singapore, and Dato’ Ng Jui Sia, CEO Times Publishing, parent of The Centhini Story’s publisher Marshall Cavendish.  The launch was observed by His Majesty Sri Susuhunan Paku Buwono XIII direct line to Sri Susuhunan Paku Buwono V who commissioned the original manuscript of Serat Centhini, on which The Centhini Story is based.

Kestity was invited as co-speaker, together with Australian author Linda Jaivin, on a panel discussion at the 2012 Singapore Writers Festival’s Fringe Program.  The discussion titled “Origins of Desire ….Whose Desire?” included references to The Centhini Story’ sections on human desire and sexuality.
